Business days

A Business day is a fixed working period of a restaurant against which all figures are calculated.

The business day is the minimal period for which we can extract data to produce a number of reports. By configuring the appropriate settings for a division in the Divisions directory we can automatically generate sales records based on operations carried out during a business day in that division.

At least one division, must be created to open and close business days. In a company with multiple divisions, business days will be created for each division separately and may have different duration, opening and closing dates and time. For example, the restaurant works from 12:00 till 02:00, while the cafe works from 09:00 till 21:00.

Business days are used to facilitate report generation in the Sales and Store subsystems, and enterprise monitoring.

Within business days the following operations are carried out:

To sell menu items on the terminal, a business day must be opened in a division. Only one business day can be opened in a division simultaneously.

Note

Fiscal registration sets a maximum duration of a business day at 24 hours. Z-reports are printed on every till, when the business day is closed.

A business day can be opened in Administrator mode on any terminal in a division and closed in any division by any operator with the required security privileges. Business days can also be opened and closed in Tillypad XL Manager in the Business days list.

A status is assigned to the business day depending on what stage the day is on.

All operations within a division are carried out when a business day is opened (has the Open status). After the day has been closed, its orders, bills and receipts are not editable. The Open for changes status is used to edit these documents.

Note

Sales records for a business day are generated automatically. Sales records registration can be done either manually or automatically. Sales record registration method is specified in the Divisions directory.

The information about all business days opened on terminals is contained in the Business days list.
