Divisions

A Division is a structural unit in the system which defines a group of terminals. Terminals can be grouped in divisions by location, by working hours and other criteria.

Terminals in a division share access to guest tabs opened within the division. Opening or closing the business day on one terminal opens or closes the day for all terminals in the division. Separating terminals into divisions also allows segregation of management data.

The security category assigned to a division enables access to terminals to be limited only to employees assigned to that division. Divisions are also used to group and filter data when creating reports.

All divisions are registered and managed in the Divisions directory. The system requires at least one division containing at least one terminal in order to work.

Division configurations specify whether its guest tabs should be carried over from one business day to the next, and contain settings for processing and registering sales records.

Default privileges and auto-orders can be configured at division level. These will automatically be applied to all guest tabs opened within the division.

Note

If client, table and division all have different privileges at the same time, they will all be indicated in the client's guest tab.

Auto-orders for tables override auto-orders for divisions. If different auto-orders are specified for a division and table, the auto-order specified for the table will be added to the guest tab.

Privileges are added to guest tabs as soon as they are opened at the terminal. Auto-orders are added when the guest tab is saved.

Division configurations can also specify the name of the organisation, its location, the device for order-ready confirmations, the service provider used to route messages between segments in the division and the maximum value of open (unpaid) guest tabs.
