Sales parameters

Sales parameters determine what properties of menu items can be adjusted when they are added to orders at terminals.

Sales parameters are assigned to menu items and their shortcuts when entering them in the Menu and Draft menu directories.

They allow adjustment of:

There are two methods of adjustment:

Sales parameters also determine whether a menu item or shortcut is an independent item for sale, or whether it is intended for use only as a modifier with other items.

If the sales parameter for a menu item or shortcut enables adjustments when adding the item to an order, the editor window will open on when the item is selected in the terminal menu. The editor window will contain fields for editing the properties that are specified in the sales parameter as adjustable. If the sales parameter enables adjustments only when editing the item, then when it is selected in the menu it will be added to the order immediately, without the editor window opening. Adjustments can then be made by selecting the item in the order and editing it.

Sales parameters are managed in the Sales parameters directory.

Sales parameter configuration is divided into groups of settings:

The * symbol denotes that adjustment can be made only when editing the item after it has been added to an order.

The + symbol denotes that adjustment can be made on adding the item to an order and on editing.

If a setting with the * symbol is marked as No, then its equivalent setting with the + symbol cannot be selected.

Note

From here on, 'menu items' will refer to both menu items and menu item shortcuts.
