POS terminal operating modes

Points of sale are equipped with devices (terminals, PDAs etc.), that are used for client service and selling menu items.

Note

We will be regarding terminal as a main device on a point of sale.

Multiple employees can use one terminal and work in different modes.

The point of sale mode is a set of functions for a terminal operator. Operator can be any employee working on the terminal (a waiter, cashier, administrator). Only one user logged in to the system can work on the terminal simultaneously.

An employee's access rights define whether the employee can work on the terminal. Terminal modes, information displayed in viewer windows and operations that the employee has access to are specified when configuring the employee's user role.

Modes are preconfigured. Tillypad XL has the following modes:

Terminal modes of a company are created on the basis of the preconfigured modes and are held in the Terminal operating modes directory. A set of company terminal modes can be created by changing parameters of the preconfigured modes.
