A business day is a fixed working period of a restaurant against which all figures are calculated. As a rule, a business day corresponds to one shift and should be in accordance with the local fiscal law.

At least one division must be created to open and close business days. In a company with multiple divisions, business days will be created for each division separately and may have different duration, opening and closing dates and time. For example, the restaurant works from 12:00 till 02:00, while the cafe works from 09:00 till 21:00.

Business days are used to facilitate report generation in the Sales and Store systems, and enterprise monitoring.

Within business days the following operations are carried out:

To sell menu items on the POS terminal, a business day must be opened in a division. Only one business day can be opened in a division simultaneously. Z-reports are printed on every till, when the business day is closed.

A business day can be opened on one POS terminal in the division and closed on another POS terminal in the same division. A business day can be opened and closed by different employees with the required privileges. Business days are opened and closed on the POS terminal in the Administrator mode of the Tillypad XL POS program. It can also be done in Tillypad XL Manager in the Business days list.

A business day can have one of the following statuses:

All operations within a division are carried out when a business day is opened (has the Open status). After the day has been closed, its orders, bills and receipts are not editable. The Open for changes status is used to edit these documents.
