Tillypad XL allows you to redirect a job from a temporarily unavailable device to a different device. Jobs are redirected in case the other device is out of order or if it needs to be temporarily replaced with another (backup) device. For example, if the service printer ran out of paper, then before you finish loading paper in the paper tray, the print jobs can be redirected to another printer, POS screen or another system device that supports the functionality of a printer.

You can set up the rules of redirecting jobs from one device to another in the Device redirection settings directory. You can set up the jobs to be redirected immediately or after a certain time period (timeout) if the job was not executed on the main device.
