To use the keyboard of a certain device to enter information in the Tillypad XL system, you need to specify the functions that will be carried out when you press certain keys. Keyboard layouts are used to define functions assigned to certain keys.
Keyboard layout is set for a certain keyboard format, i.e. for the description of a relative position of keys defined in the software module. This way one keyboard format can have different keyboard layouts. For example, they can be adapted for the work specifics of different divisions. Each of these layouts can be used by a device.
A key can be assigned the following functions:
select menu group,
select menu item,
select payment method,
select payment method group,
carry out shortcut actions (predefined operations or their sequences),
special functions (confirm selection, cancel, etc.),
select report.
