Notes allow custom fields to be added to objects in Tillypad XL Manager . They allow you to enter additional information about directory items and groups.

Notes can be unique or non-unique. A unique note is represented by a field, while a non-unique note is represented by a data grid. Any number of notes of either kind can be applied to any directory object in the system.

For unique notes, only one field is displayed and only one value can be entered.

For non-unique notes, a data grid is displayed in which any number of values can be entered.

Note types are managed in the Note types directory.

The system is supplied with a number of read-only note types. These are system objects and cannot be edited or deleted.

The system objects that a note is applied to are specified in the Objects panel of the Note type window.

Notes can be used for filtering data in user-defined reports. Notes are not used by system reports.
