Payment method determines the way clients pay for meals, goods and services on the POS terminal.

Each payment method in the system must belong to a group. Payment method groups cannot contain subgroups.

The Payment methods directory is intended to manage payment methods applied to settle bills and to manage payment method groups as well. Payment method groups can be managed in the Payment methods directory and also in the Payment method groups directory.

Payment methods are used in payment settings managed in the Payment settings directory. These payment settings are specified in the configuration of devices used as POS terminals. Specified payment methods are displayed as payment method options on the POS terminal screen.

If a POS terminal has a keyboard attached, shortcut keys can be defined in the Keyboard layouts directory to enable quick selection of different payment methods.

The Payment methods directory allows both payment methods and payment method groups to be temporarily disabled.

Security levels are used to limit employee access to different payment methods when settling bills at POS terminals. Access settings made for payment methods determine which payment methods can be viewed and applied on the POS terminal.
