To manage Tillypad XL system objects, for example devices, reports etc., you need to set up special rules that determine who can manage the objects and what operations can be run on them.

To separate objects for which you need to set up special rules, they are assigned security levels. The security level can be assigned directly to an object or a group of objects, as well as inherited from the security level of a different group or object.

After you install Tillypad XL Manager , you will see two security levels created by the developer: Security level for DB administrator and Tillypad reports. These security levels are used in the initial system access settings.

The system settings define the security level inherited by default by all groups of objects and objects that do not belong to any group. Objects that belong to a group inherit by default the security level of their group.

Security level can be either directly assigned to an object, e.g. to a device, or to a group of objects, e.g. to a stock item group. The security level assigned to a group of objects is inherited by all objects of the group if these objects do not have a different security level assigned to them.

Security levels are included in access settings. Security level determines objects regulated by this access setting.

User can define the list of required security levels.

To manage security levels and access settings, please use the Security levels directory.
