Each store in the Tillypad XL system must belong to a store group. All the stores in a group share the same procedures for processing stock-in and stock-out operations across stores of the same group; calculating current on-hand stocks, calculating cost prices and purchase prices and processing sales records.

Store groups are used to determine between which stores stock items can be transferred using stock movement records.

Store groups are managed in the Store groups directory.
