Current on hand operational report

Current on hand is the amount of stock items that are currently available in the store. Current on hand data are used to quickly find available stock of items.

The information about stock currently on hand in specified stores can be retrieved using the Current on hand operational report.

Unlike the Stock on hand report, which includes cost prices, the current on hand report displays only volumes.

Unlike calculation of cost prices in the Stock on hand report, which can be time-consuming and requires a lot of server resources, the Current on hand report is retrieved instantaneously and is calculated on the segment specified for the store. If necessary, the segment can be changed.

Note

As a rule, in case of the sales segment, calculation of cost price can be stopped (in the Tasks list or Store groups directory). In order not to overload the server the task can be assigned to another segment. It is explained by the following reasons:

  • A great part of the server resources are used to calculate cost prices, which is not needed to find current on hand data. That is why, replication-related data streams and the load on the server can be essentially diminished.

  • All the documents are processed in turn. Therefore, it will take some time to complete all cost price calculations, and required data can be unavailable at a particular moment of time. However, stock on hand can be viewed immediately.

  • Cost price is calculated for a group of stores. However, two or more enterprises can share the same group of stores using replication. But this can greatly delay the process of calculation if communication channels are slow.

Like stock levels on a particular date current on hand stocks are calculated on the basis of already processed store documents. These documents are as follows:

Stock movement records affect stock count in sending stores when they have the Sent status and in recipient stores when they have the Accepted status.

Documents on future dates can also be included. These documents will be taken into account for current on-hand stocks but not for stocks on date.

On hand level calculation must be configured in order for current on hand to be displayed in the report for required stores.

The user cannot make any changes to current on hand data. These data can be used to generate reports.
