Stock on hand

Revision History

Stock on hand (on date) are the stock items held in stores on a specified date. Stock on hand and cost price of stock movement from store to store are found by using the cost price calculation procedure.

Stock on hand is calculated on the basis of store documents processed by the storekeeping system. These documents are as follows:

Stock on hand data on a specified date can be found in the Stock on hand operational report.

Stock on hand on a specified date can be generated for any store and any date. The user cannot make any changes to stock on hand data.

Current on hand is the on hand stock level at the current moment.

Data about stock on hand on a specified date can be used to populate specifications of stock-in and stock-out documents and to draw up reports.

To add a stock item from the stock on hand list to the specification of a store document, use the Select from stock on hand window in the sequential adding mode of the Stock on hand operational report. Alternatively, you can add an item using the clipboard. Stock on hand is calculated for the store and date specified in this document.

If stock monitoring is disabled for the store, the stock on hand can be negative, i.e. the quantity of used stock can be greater than the theoretical on hand level. To avoid negative stock on hand when populating stock-out documents, it is recommended that you carry out calculations on the stock items included in the document specifications.

Data from store documents may be accounted for in the Stock on hand report with some delay because the calculation takes time and can be executed only at the exact time entered in the specified schedule.

Sales and cost price calculation are generally carried out in different segments. Otherwise, cost price calculation must be stopped in order to process sales. In order to monitor sales and avoid stock deficiencies, it is necessary to immediately calculate current on hand inventory. This is the purpose of the Current on hand directory.
