Price schedules

Revision History

Menu items can be offered either at a fixed price or according to price schedules. A price schedule is a schedule that specifies different sale prices for menu items depending on the time period. Menu items can be even excluded from sale.

A price (either fixed or time-dependent) may be specified either for menu items (dishes, goods, simple services) or for time intervals during which menu items can be consumed (timed services). Sale prices for dishes, goods, and simple services are taken from price schedules. The sale price for a timed service is calculated by first, multiplying a price related to a specific interval by the time within this interval, and then, summing up the results of this calculation for all applicable intervals.

The price schedule specification includes menu items and time intervals within a 24-hour period. You can assign each menu item a sale price specific to a time interval. You can also exclude some menu items from sale during a given interval.

For example, 1 hour of bowling from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. sells for £10, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. - £20, and from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. - £12.

Price scheduling allows you to create a simple rubric for adding discounts or surcharges to menu items.

In order to manage price schedules, use the Price schedules directory.

For convenience, price schedules can be put into price schedule groups. Changes to price schedule groups in the Price schedules directory are displayed in the Price schedule groups data grid inside the directory, and vice versa.

If a price schedule is set for a menu item, when the item is selected on the POS terminal, it will be inserted into an order with the price established by the price schedule.

Price schedules are valid within specified intervals of user-defined day types.
