How to set up a price schedule

Chapter 18. How to set up a price schedule

Revision History

Price schedules allow you to sell menu items at different prices depending on the time of day. In a price schedule, you can divide the business day into time intervals and set up a sale price for menu items within each of these intervals. Additionally, price schedules allow you to delineate special time periods during which certain menu items will be unavailable for sale.

Price schedules are specified for divisions and day types. Price schedules apply in these divisions during pre-defined time periods.

If a price schedule is set for a menu item, it will be added to an order at the price that applies at that particular time.

Setting up a price schedule for a menu item

You need to set up a price schedule in order to sell a menu item at different prices during the day or to exclude it from sale during certain hours.

Suppose you need to set up a Lunchtime price schedule that will allow you to sell a lunch combo at a standard price from 12:00 to 16:00 and at a discounted price from 16:00 to 18:00. At all other times, the lunch combo should be unavailable for sale. The price schedule settings must be configured for the Restaurant Peter I division.

The Price schedules directory contains the Lunchtime price schedule, the Menu directory has the Lunch Combo item, and the Divisions directory contains the Restaurant item.
