Directory with groups

Directory with groups

Directory items can be joined into groups. Groups can be equal or multilevel (hierarchical). These directories are called directories with groups.

If the groups within a data grid have a tree structure, these groups can contain subgroups.

A menu group that contains subgroups is known as a parent group. The groups nested within it are known as child groups.

Another kind of directory with groups is the single-level directory (with equal groups). In this structure, groups cannot contain subgroups.

The Additional functions menu that is used to control the appearance of the data grid contains the Show groups and Hide groups commands.

Deleting the parent group will also delete all nested subgroups and items (the entire tree).

In other respects, the operation of a directory with groups is similar to that of a simple directory.
