Sales parameters

Revision History

Sales parameters determine what properties of menu items can be adjusted when they are added to orders at POS terminals.

In the Menu directory, sales parameters are designated for menu items, while in the Draft menu directory they are set for draft menu items.

Sales parameters help determine which attributes of a menu item can be changed when the item is added to an order or when its properties are edited in an order on the POS terminal. These parameters also determine how a menu item is added to an order: as a standalone item or as another item's modifier.

They allow you to adjust:

  • quantity (weight, volume, time),

  • price,

  • order of service (course),

  • number of portions,

  • a short text comment on an order item.

There are two methods of adjustment:

  • with request (indicated by the "+" symbol) – the editor window will be opened when the user adds a menu item to an order and when he/she edits a menu item that has already been added to an order. In the editor window, only those fields that correspond to "with request" parameters are enabled.

  • without request (indicated by the "*" symbol) – the editor window will be opened only when the user edits an order item.

Suppose the sales parameters of the Potato salad menu item enable the user to change the number of portions by request. This means that when the user selects this menu item in the POS terminal menu, an editor window will open where he/she can change the number of portions. By default, this value will equal the number of portions specified in the menu. Let's consider a situation where the sales parameters of this menu item enable the user to change its quantity without a request. When selecting this menu item in the POS terminal menu, 1 portion will be added to the order without the editor window opening. Adjustments can then be made by selecting the item in the order and editing it.

Sales parameters are managed in the Sales parameters directory.
