POS terminal operating modes

Revision History

A terminal is a device (POS terminal, PDA, etc.) that allows you to perform a variety of service operations for your clients. These tasks include taking orders, making payments, running authorisation operations and fiscal registrations, printing documents and reports, etc.

Tillypad XL POS offers you different operating modes to suit all your business needs. There are modes for fast food outlets, restaurants, clubs, etc. Each mode has a set of functions, which must be enabled on the POS terminal. Tillypad XL includes the following POS terminal operating modes:

You can create POS terminal mode settings based on a generic mode and adapt them to specific employees' privileges (waiters, cashiers, administrators). Each operating mode is configured using the set of parameters provided in a generic mode. Once you have specified a format for it, you can change the standard button used to open this operating mode from the main menu of the POS terminal.

Settings configured in this directory are applied to all POS terminals. Additional settings for each individual POS terminal are configured in the Devices directory.

Whether an employee will be able to access this operating mode is determined by his or her access rights. Access rights for specific operations are configured via user roles. These settings determine to which operating modes, operations, and data the user has access.

Only one user can be logged in to the POS terminal at any given time.

POS terminal operating modes are managed in the POS terminal operating modes directory.
