Tasks

To ensure that your business processes run smoothly, some operations need to be executed regularly on the application server. For example, daily crediting of money to employees’ lunch cards, monthly nullification of regular customer points, and so on. These operations are managed through tasks.

A task contains an SQL query, preset parameters for this SQL query, and its execution schedule. Each task is associated with a task type, which determines the query.

Tasks can be launched and stopped manually or automatically at scheduled intervals. The Tillypad application server controls the execution and scheduling of tasks.

Information about task executions is stored in the task execution log. In this log, you can view a complete list of task executions and their outcomes.

The tasks that perform system functions and ensure the operation of Tillypad XL, along with their schedules, have been created by the developer and cannot be edited. You can only view their execution logs. System tasks are started automatically but can also be launched manually. System tasks include:

Other tasks can be created, edited and deleted by the user.

Tasks are managed in the Tasks list.
