Revision History

Working with Tillypad XL Manager and Tillypad XL POS requires a separate licence for each workplace. A licence determines one or more functionalities, i.e. the list of possible operations that can be carried out in one of the areas of your business (front office, back office, store documents management).

Depending on their sites of verification, licences can be global or local. If global licences are used, the segment application server checks these licences on the licence server via the Internet. By contrast, local licences are checked by the segment application server itself. In order to use local licences, you need to specify local licence packages in the segment specification.

Depending on the length of their validity, licences can be continuous (valid within a certain time period) or temporary (valid for one working session only). For continuous licences this length is limited by the start and end date of their periods of validity. Data on a continuous licence are stored in the configuration program file (ini file).

A licence determines one or more features available for a given work station.

The specific privileges allocated to a user based on his or her user role can be defined using access settings. Access settings can only include those privileges that are supported by the licence.

The Licence settings directory is intended to manage local and global licences used at a particular work station.

Information about the current licence state is displayed in the status bar in Tillypad XL Manager.
