The Supplementary units panel is a table with a list of supplementary units of measurement and the recalculation ranges within which they apply.

Figure 5.67. Supplementary units panel

Columns in the Supplementary units panel data grid:

  • Name indicates the name of the supplementary unit of measurement that will be displayed when quantities within the specified range are entered.

  • Unit (menu) denotes the primary unit of measurement, which will be recalculated and replaced with the supplementary unit.

  • Quantity range min. value indicates the lower limit of the range of quantities subject to recalculation. If the quantity is within this range, the supplementary unit will be used.

  • Quantity range max. value designates the upper limit of the range of quantities subject to recalculation.

If the quantity is within this range, the supplementary unit will be used

  • Ratio denotes the ratio used to recalculate quantities. This is a required field.

The ratio is used when an entered value falls within the recalculation range. The quantity expressed in primary units is equal to the product of the inserted value and the ratio.

    Quantityprimary units=Quantitysuppl.units*Ratio

  • Index is the priority order of supplementary units when quantity recalculation ranges overlap one another.

The Index indicates the order in which supplementary units will be applied if the entered value falls within more than one supplementary unit range.

The context menu contains the following commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a new supplementary unit for a quantity recalculation range.

  • Edit (F2) – allows you to edit the supplementary units of measurement that correspond to a given quantity recalculation range.

  • Delete (Del) – permanently deletes supplementary units of measurement from the menu units of measurement specification.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Summary functions – menu with the commands to manage the summary functions of the data grid.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

To add a new supplementary unit within any quantity recalculation range, use the New supplementary unit entry window. Use the Supplementary unit and Supplementary units entry windows to edit the attributes of supplementary units within quantity recalculation ranges.

When you permanently delete supplementary units from a menu units of measurement specification, a confirm permanent deletion prompt will appear.
