A stock item unit of measurement group combines stock item units of measurement, which can be converted to one another using ratios. As a rule, one unit of measurement in a group is chosen as the base unit. Its ratio is always 1
. Recalculation ratios for other units of measurement are in proportion to the base unit. For example, if kilogram
is chosen as the base unit of measurement, the recalculation ratio for gram
will be 0.001.
The base unit of measurement is not necessarily included in the group. For example, a group may be composed of dozen
(with the ratio of 12
) and ten
(with the ratio of 10
) units, while there is no unit of measurement with the ratio of 1
.
One unit of measurement group cannot contain another. Stock item units of measurement belonging to one group are absolutely independent from units of measurement from other groups.
The list of units of measurement is available in the data grid of the and directories.
Changes made in the directory are reflected in the directory and vice versa.
