The Screen report software module allows you to display the information that needs to be printed on the screen. This can be an additional screen connected to the POS terminal or a display connected to any of the computers in the segment. The screen report works only on PC or POS terminals with Microsoft Windows.

If all of the information cannot be shown on one screen, the report is automatically split into several smaller pages which are displayed one by one. Pages can change while being displayed on the screen. For example, if the screen report displays a guest tab, the changes made to the guest tab on the POS terminal will immediately appear in the screen report.

The device controlled by the Screen report software module can be used as a printer or customer display. Alternatively, you can use it to display reports on the screen.

To display reports on the screen, you need to configure the report, save filter parameter values, and fill in the screen report parameters group. In this mode, you can display any report whose parameters have been saved in advance.

If the device controlled by the Screen report software module is used as a printer or customer display, it displays messages using software module print formats. When serving customers, you can use multiple print formats. The format that will be selected depends on the processing stage of the guest tab on the POS terminal.

Example of how to set up a screen report to be displayed on the customer display

Let us look at the example of setting up a customer display with an additional screen connected to the POS terminal. When the point of sale is free to take orders, the screen displays a corresponding screensaver. When the customer places the order, the screen shows its specification. During payment, the amount due appears on the screen. If the customer is paying with cash, the amount of change due is displayed. After the payment has been completed, a screensaver appears, notifying other customers that the point of sale is free.

In our example, the basic settings of the POS terminal have already been configured. The POS terminal has a second screen that will be used as a customer display.

The Software module print formats directory already contains necessary print formats.

We need to create a device for showing information on the customer display and configure the POS terminal.

To configure the customer display, you need to take the following steps:

  1. Create a device controlled by the Screen report software module.

  2. Configure the POS terminal to work with the customer display.

  3. Check your settings.
