Note type window

Windows used to manage note types:

All of these windows are opened from the Note types directory data grid.

You can open the editor window by using the Edit command. In this window, you can modify attributes of one or more note types.

If one entry is selected in the data grid, the Note type editor window opens.

The window is composed of the Properties , Access , and Objects panels.

The Properties panel is composed of the following fields:

  • Name indicates the name of the note type. This is a required field.

  • Header is the header of the field that is displayed on the notes panel.

  • Description is a description of the note type.

  • Unique shows whether a note of this type is unique. This is a required field.

    You can choose between: Yes and No. If you select Yes, the object window will display a separate panel for the field specified in the note type. If you select No, the field specified in the note type will be displayed on the Objects panel.

  • Data type denotes the type of the data entered in the note field of an object window. This is a required field.

    In the editor window, this field is read-only. In the entry window, you can choose from the following set of options: String, Boolean, Integer, Decimal, Date, Select from list, and Multilingual string.

  • Directory is the directory, the items of which will be available for selection in the note field drop-down list of an object window. This is a required field.

    In the editor window, this field is read-only.

    The field is displayed if you have selected Select from list in the Data type field.

    Please select a directory in the Select directory window.

  • Index is the sequence order in which notes are displayed in the window.

  • Panel header is the header of the panel displayed in the object window for a unique note.

  • Inactive indicates whether a note of this type has been temporarily disabled. This is a required field.

    You can choose between: Yes and No.

    If you select Yes, the additional panel in the object window will display neither an entry field for a unique note nor a data grid for a non-unique note. If this is the only note on the additional panel, the panel itself will also be hidden.

    If you select No, the object window will display panels for unique notes and fields on the Objects panel.

  • Required shows whether the note field must be filled out. This is a required field.

    You can choose between: Yes and No.

    If you select Yes, the note field will become a required field in the object window. When saving window data, the system will check if the note field is filled out or not. If you select No, the system will not check if the field is filled out or not.

Click OK to save data. Selecting Apply will save data without closing the window. Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving data.

The editor window for multiple note types opens if two or more entries are selected in the data grid. The name of the editor window changes to Note types. A panel with a list of the selected items is added to the window.

The fields and panels are similar to those in the Note type window.

The entry window allows you to add one or more note types to the directory.

You can open the New note type entry window by using the Add command or by pasting a note type from the clipboard.
