Specification panel in the Development record window
Specification panel in the Development record window

The Specification panel lists both the stock items used in the development of new compound stock items and the operations (experiments) carried out with these original stock items.

Each row in the data grid contains one stock item that is used in the development recipe. The data grid columns correspond to the manufacturing operations (experiments) that were carried out with stock items. Each manufacturing operation corresponds to a separate group of columns.

Figure 6.150. Specification panel

The data grid is composed of the following columns:

  • Stock item indicates the stock item or ingredient to be processed.

  • Unit (stock item) denotes the unit of measurement of the processed stock items or ingredients in the recipe of a compound stock item.

The data grid also contains one or more groups of columns where experiments are described. These groups are composed of the following columns:

  • Quantity is the amount of the stock item before cold processing and cooking (gross quantity).

  • Net designates the net amount of the stock item after cold preparation (net quantity).

  • Yield is the yield of the stock item after cold preparation and cooking wastages.

  • Price by cost is the price of the item after cost price calculation.

  • Total by cost price denotes the cost price of the stock item.

The Quantity, Net, and Yield columns are populated by the user when the development record is created or edited.

The Price by cost and Total by cost price columns are populated automatically after the development record has been processed by the storekeeping system.

The context menu of the development record contains the following commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a stock item or recipe item to the development record specification.

  • Edit / View (F2) – edits and displays development record specification items.

The Edit command is only available in the specifications of development records with the Not ready status, provided the specification has at least one stock item. If the stock development record has either the Ready or Registered status, the Edit command in the context menu is replaced with the View command.

  • Select from stock items – selects stock items from the Stock items directory to add them sequentially to the development record specification.

The Select from stock items command is added to the context menu in the specification of a record with the status Not ready.

  • Select from stock on hand – selects stock items from the Stock on hand operational report to add them sequentially to the development record specification.

The Select from stock on hand command is added to the specification context menu of a development record with the status Not ready.

  • Experiments – menu with the commands to manage individual stages of development operations (experiments).

The Experiments menu is composed of the following commands:

    • Add (Shift+Ctrl+Ins) – adds a new experiment to the specification of the development record.

    • Edit / View – edits or views experiments in the specification of the development record.

The Edit command in the Experiments menu is available only in specifications of development records with the Not ready status, provided the specification has at least one experiment. If the development record has a status of either Ready or Registered, the Edit command in the context menu is replaced with the View command in the Experiments menu.

    • Delete (Alt+D) – deletes experiments from the specification of the development record.

The Delete command in the Experiments menu is available only in filled-in specifications of development records with the status Not ready. If the development record has the status Ready or Registered, the Delete command becomes disabled in the Experiments menu.

    • Undo delete – cancels deletion of experiments from the development record.

This command only becomes available if the deletion of an experiment from the specification caused an error when the record was processed in the storekeeping system.

  • Stock items – menu with the commands to manage stock items included in the specification of the development record.

The Stock items menu is composed of the following commands:

    • Edit / View – edits attributes of the stock items that are used in experiments.

The Edit command in the Stock items menu is available only in filled-in specifications of development records with the status Not ready. If the development record has either the Ready or Registered status, the Edit command in the context menu is replaced with the View command in the Stock items menu.

    • Delete (Del) – deletes stock items from the development record specification.

The Delete command in the Stock items menu is available only in filled-in specification of development records with the status Not ready. If the development record has a status of either Ready or Registered, the Delete command becomes disabled in the Stock items menu.

    • Undo delete – cancels the deletion of stock items from the specification of the development record.

This command is only available when the deletion of a stock item from the specification caused an error during processing.

  • Stock movement – opens the operational report on movement of the selected stock items.

The command is enabled only in the completed specifications of store documents regardless of their current status.

  • Stock item turnover – opens an operational report on stock turnover of the selected stock items.

The command is enabled only in the completed specifications of store documents regardless of their current status.

  • Stock in by stock out – opens an operational report on the receipt of the selected consumed stock items.

Command is available only in filled in specifications of store documents that have been processed in the storekeeping system regardless of their current status.

  • Undo delete – cancels the deletion of stock items that have been previously deleted from the specification of the development record.

The command is enabled only if the specification item that caused an error during document processing by the store software has been deleted.

  • Update recipe – updates the recipe of the compound stock item in the Stock items directory based on the data in the development record.

This command is available only for filled-in specifications of development records, regardless of the documents' current status.

  • Status – menu with the commands to alter the document status.

When you select one or more documents with the same status, their current status will not be available in the context menu. When you select documents with different statuses, all possible statuses will be available in the context menu.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

The New experiment stock item entry window is used to add stock items to the development record specification.

The Experiment stock item editor window is used to edit specification items.

The Development record specification item editor window is used to edit the properties of specification items (stock item wastage from experiments).

The Development record specification items viewing window is used to view properties (stock item wastage during experiments) of specification items in development records with the status Ready or Registered.

The New experiment entry window is used to add experiments to the development record specification.

The Experiment editor window is used to edit trial runs (experiments).

The Experiment viewing window is used to view the properties of experiments in development records with the status Ready or Registered.

A confirm permanent deletion prompt appears when you delete experiments from development records.

If the development record has the status Ready or Registered, no changes can be made to its specification. In this case the Edit context menu entry of the development record is replaced with the View command.
