Price schedule panel in the Menu item window

The Price schedule panel is utilized to create and edit price schedules applicable to the menu item. Price schedules allow menu items to be sold at different prices at different times of the day. Moreover, using price schedules, you can set a series of intervals throughout the business day during which menu items will be removed from sale altogether.

The Price schedule panel is composed of one field:

  • Inherit price schedules. This is a required field.

The field is available in windows of menu items created on the basis of other items (inherited menu items).

You can choose between Yes and No.

If the Yes option is set, price schedules of the baseline menu item will be made available in the panel. Selecting No enables the user to specify only those price schedules that will apply to this inherited menu item.

Within the Price schedule panel each price schedule applicable to this menu item will be placed in its own separate panel.

If the panel is empty, the price schedule added to the panel will only be saved if the price of the menu item has been changed or its sale has been limited to certain time intervals. Otherwise, there is no reason to add a price schedule. Therefore, after clicking the OK or Apply button, the panel will be cleared.

The context menu of the Price schedule panel contains the following commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a price schedule for the menu item.

  • Edit (F2) – edits price of the menu item.

This command is only available in a completed data grid when a price cell is selected.

The Edit command is disabled in the context menu if a price schedule interval is selected in the price schedule panel.

  • Delete price schedule (Del) – permanently deletes price schedules from the menu item specification.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

A new price schedule can be added using the New price schedule entry window.

Each price schedule is displayed with its own timetable in the panel. The header of the data grid will be the name of the price schedule. A button to control the display of price schedules in the panel also appears on the header.

A given price schedule can be added only once. If the selected price schedule has already been added, a warning message will be displayed.

A confirmation prompt appears when you delete price schedules.

The name of the price schedule is shown in the header of the timetable. Each interval in a price schedule is assigned to an individual column. In the data grid, a Price column appears for each interval. In this column, you can edit the prices of the menu item or exclude the menu item from sale within this interval.

For example, an offer could be configured so that a lunch special costs £5.

Prices for menu items in different price schedule time intervals can be edited in the Price in price schedule and Prices in price schedule editor windows.
