Substitute stock item window

Windows used with substitute stock items:

All of these windows are opened from the Substitutes panel context menu.

The editor window is opened by using the Edit command in the context menu. From here, you can edit one or more substitute stock items are selected.

If one substitute stock item is selected, the Substitute stock item editor window opens.

Window fields:

  • Replacement for is the stock item that the substitute replaces. This is a required field.

  • Stock item is the stock item used to replace the original stock item. This is a required field.

    You can select this value in the Select stock item window.

  • Quantity indicates the quantity of the replacement stock item. This is a required field.

    The stock item quantity is entered in the unit of measurement specified for the stock item in the Stock items directory.

  • Unit (stock item) is the unit of measurement for the stock item. For convenience, the name of this field is not displayed in the window. This is a required field.

    Please select a unit in the Select stock item unit of measurement window. By default, this field contains the value defined for this stock item in the Stock items directory.

  • Index determines what stock item will take precedence in the event the needed stock item is missing. This is a required field.

    By default the highest index is assigned to a new item.

  • Comment is a short text comment.

    Any additional information can be entered in this field.

Click OK to save data. Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving data.

When two or more substitute stock items are selected for editing, the multiple editor window opens. The name of the editor window changes to Substitute stock items. A panel with a list of the selected substitute stock items is added to the window; the names of their corresponding stock items are specified in brackets.

The fields are similar to those in the Substitute stock item window.

The entry window is used to add one or more new substitute stock items.

The New substitute stock item entry window is opened by using the Add command or by pasting one stock item from the clipboard to the substitute specification.

The New substitute stock items entry window opens when two or more substitute stock items are added from the clipboard. A panel with a list of the copied items is added to the window, along with the stock items they replace specified in brackets.
