Configurable value type for module window

The Configurable value types panel is used to manage configurable software module values.

Configurable software module values determine the additional attributes (coupled with the standard attributes) that must be specified for the device controlled by the software module.

Data grid columns:

  • Name indicates the name of the configurable value type of the software module.

  • Description is a brief text description of the configurable value type.

  • Software module designates the software module, the specification of which contains the configurable value type.

  • Internal name is the internal name of the configurable value type.

  • Header denotes the header of the field used to enter or to select a configurable value in the device window.

  • Panel header is the header of the panel displaying the field used to enter or to select a configurable value in the device window.

  • Index indicates the sequence order of panels and fields in the device window.

  • Unique shows whether the value is unique for software module configurable value types.

  • Required shows whether entry (or selection) of the configurable value type is obligatory.

  • Directory is the name of the directory from which the value is selected in the device window.

Context menu commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a new configurable value type for the software module.

  • Edit / View (F2) – edits or displays attributes of configurable value types.

  • Delete (Del) – permanently deletes configurable value types.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Summary functions – menu with the commands to manage the summary functions of the data grid.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

To add a new configurable value type to the software module specification, use the New configurable value type for module entry window. To edit attributes of the specification items, use the Configurable value type for module and Configurable value types for module editor windows. To view attributes of inherited configurable value types, use the Configurable value type for module and Configurable value types for module viewing windows.

When you delete configurable value types from the software module specification, a confirm permanent deletion prompt appears.

Configurable value types from the software module specification are utilised to generate the panels and fields that are used to select attribute values in the Device window.
