Report groups directory

The Report groups directory is used to manage groups of reports.

Reports can be grouped according to any criteria, for example Till reports, Store reports, Quarterly and yearly reports.

Location of the directory: ReportsReport groups.

Data grid columns:

  • Name denotes the name of the group of reports.

  • Description is a description of the report group.

  • Parent group is the group of reports containing this group.

  • Security level indicates the security level assigned to the report group.

  • System is a tag identifying system objects.

The context menus of directory groups contain the following commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a report group.

  • Edit (F2) – edits attributes of report groups.

  • Delete (Del) – deletes report groups to the Recycle bin.

  • Export – menu with the commands to export files into an external file or update package.

  • Clipboard – menu with the commands to operate the clipboard.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Summary functions – menu with the commands to manage the summary functions of the data grid.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

In order to add new groups of reports to the directory, use the New report group and New report groups entry windows. To edit attributes of report groups, use the Report group and Report groups editor windows.

A confirmation prompt appears when you delete groups of reports. When a group of reports is deleted, all its nested reports will be deleted as well.

To select a group of reports from entry and editor windows, use the Select report group window.

Groups of reports added to the Report settings directory are also displayed in the Reports submenu of the main menu. The Reports menu contains menu options with names of parent groups from the Report settings directory. These menu options allow you to open report viewing windows or select child groups of reports.
