Test dishes and experiments enable the cook to figure out how much stock item wastage occurs when dishes are prepared. As a result of an experiment, a development record is created, where the cook specifies the quantities of recipe items needed to prepare one or more compound stock items.

The Update recipes operation enables you to make changes to the recipes of compound stock items in the Stock items directory based on the results of development experiments.
