Adding menu items to an order
Adding menu items to an order

To add a menu item to an order, select the item from the menu data grid.

If the sales parameter of the selected menu item does not allow editing, the selected item will automatically be added to an open order. An order is created automatically if the guest tab has no open orders.

The Item column contains the number of portions of the menu item, as well as its name and unit of measurement.

Adding menu items to orders and specifying quantity

If the sales parameter of the menu item allows you to change the quantity of the menu item when it is added to the order, you will be prompted to indicate the quantity of the menu item to be added to the order.

If scales are connected to the POS terminal and are enabled as an input device, the menu quantity can be determined by weighing.

The Item column contains: the name of the menu item plus its quantity and unit of measurement

Since the guest number was indicated when the menu item was added to the order, the order data grid will also contain the Guest column. This column contains the number of the guest who ordered this particular menu item. The field remains empty if the guest number was not indicated when other menu items were added to the order. Guest numbers allow you to group menu items by guest in the order.

Since the guest number was indicated when the menu item was added to the order, the ordered menu items will be grouped together in the specification.

Adding menu items with modifiers to an order

If modifiers are specified for the menu item, you will be asked to choose its modifier items when adding the menu item to the order. You will need to select all required items from the modifier specification groups. If you wish, you can also add optional items to the order specification.

When you add a menu item with a modifier to an order, the editor window appears as follows:

The order specification will contain the menu item itself and its modifiers. The first row of the Item column displays the number of portions for the main menu item along with its quantity. The next rows contain the number of portions and names of the modifiers, as well as their quantities and units of measurement. The + symbol appears before the number of portions of the modifier.

After the necessary menu items have been added to the order, you can save it or send it to payment (final or intermediate).

To save the order and proceed to payment, you need to submit the order.

If you need to put a guest tab on hold, you can save the order without submitting it. To save an order that is not ready yet (a draft order), press Cancel on the Enter order screen. A confirmation window will open, prompting you to save your changes. Press the Save button to do so.
