Connected device role window

Windows used for managing connected device roles:

All of these windows are opened from the data grid context menu in the Connected device roles directory.

You can open the editor window by using the Edit command. From here, you can modify attributes of one or more connected device roles.

If one entry is selected in the data grid, the Connected device role editor window opens.

The window is composed of the following panels: Properties , Required functionality , and For format types .

The Properties panel is composed of the following fields:

  • Software module indicates the software module that uses the device. This is a required field.

  • Internal name is the internal name of the connected device role. This is a required field.

    Internal names of connected device roles are stored in the tp_ModuleRoles data grid.

  • Name is the name of the connected device role. This is a required field.

  • Description is a description of the connected device role.

  • Header designates the name of the selection field for the connected device.

    If the connected device is unique, the name of the select connected device field is displayed on the connected device panel. However, if the connected device is not unique, the field name is displayed on the connected device editor window, which is opened from the connected device specification.

  • Panel header is the name displayed on the connected devices panel in the device editor window.

  • Index determines the sequence in which connected device panels or fields are displayed in the editor window.

  • Unique indicates whether the main (unique) connected device is specified. This is a required field.

    Please choose between Yes and No.

    If the connected device is unique, the connected devices panel displays a selection box. However, if the connected device is not unique, the panel displays a data grid with a list of the connected devices.

  • Required shows whether the connected device is required for operation of the primary device. This is a required field.

    Please choose between Yes and No.

    If the connected device is flagged as Required, its attributes must be added to the primary device window.

Click OK to save data. Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving data.

If two or more connected device roles are selected in the data grid, the multiple editor window opens. The name of the editor window changes to Connected device roles. A panel with a list of the selected items is added to the editor window.

The fields and panels are similar to those in the Connected device role window.

You can open the New connected device role entry window by using the Add command. From here, you can add a new connected device role to the specification.
