Keyboard shortcut actions directory

The Keyboard shortcut actions directory is used to manage queries that allow you to assign customised functions to keys on the keyboard format or to buttons on the screen forms.

Location of the directory: DevicesDirectoriesKeyboard shortcut actions.

Data grid columns:

  • Name indicates the name of the keyboard shortcut action.

  • Description is a brief description of the keyboard shortcut action.

  • Type is the type of the keyboard shortcut action.

  • Security level is the security level assigned to the keyboard shortcut action.

  • System is a tag identifying system objects.

The context menu of the directory contains the following commands:

  • Add (Ins) – adds a new keyboard shortcut action to the directory.

  • Edit (F2) – edits attributes of keyboard shortcut actions.

  • Delete (Del) – deletes keyboard layout shortcut actions from the directory to the Recycle bin.

  • Export – menu with the commands to export files into an external file or update package.

  • Clipboard – menu with the commands to operate the clipboard.

  • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

  • Summary functions – menu with the commands to manage the summary functions of the data grid.

  • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

To add new items to the directory, use the New keyboard shortcut action and New keyboard shortcut actions entry windows. To edit attributes of the directory contents, use the Keyboard shortcut action or Keyboard shortcut actions editor windows.

When you delete keyboard shortcut actions from the directory, a confirmation prompt appears.

To create or edit a connection between shortcut actions and certain keyboard layout keys, use the Select keyboard shortcut action window.
