Windows used with reports:

Report and Reports editor windows,
New report and New reports entry windows.

The editor window is opened by the Edit command when one or more reports are selected.

If one report is selected, the Report editor window will open.

The editor window contains panels: Properties , Filter , Query , Filter settings , Model , Print layouts , Functions , Clipboard , Report information and Print from software modules .

Properties panel fields:

Report group -- report group to which the report belongs. Required field.
Selection is made in the Select report group window.
Name -- name of the report. Required field.
Description – brief description.
Any additional information can be entered in this field.
Based on – the report on which the specified report is based.

Note
The editor window of the report based on another report does not contain the Model panel, as data sets can be edited only in the base report editor window.

Click OK to save data. Selecting Apply will save data without closing the window. Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving data.

Updating data in the window

When the report editor window opens, the report query is not executed. Data sets, specifications and copied items are not displayed correctly. Also, the report print layout cannot be displayed in the preview window.

In order to display this information correctly, a query execution should be performed by the Update command in the Update menu.

This menu is displayed in the Model , Functions and Clipboard panels.

Use the Update menu on any of the above-mentioned panels to execute the query. The data will be updated on all of the rest panels. The button will not be displayed on those panels until changes are made to the report.

When two or more reports are selected for editing, the multiple editor window will open. It has a panel displaying a list of the selected reports. The title in the window header is Reports.

The multiple reports editor window contains only Properties panel.

When multiple reports are selected for editing, any changes that are saved will be applied to all of the selected reports.

The fields and panels are the same as in the Report window.

The New report entry window is oened by the Add command or Add copy command, if a single report is selected.

The New report window is also opened when a single report is being added from the clipboard.
