The Specification panel is used to specify the times at which the promotion categories are applied in a business day:

Figure 6.186. Specification panel

The Specification panel contains a data grid with a list of promotion categories, for which you can set up application time intervals (within a given business day).

The data grid also contains the <No promotion category> row. In order to apply this sales rule to guest tabs or orders that do not already have a promotion category, select the <No promotion category> row and enable the selected time interval.

Data grid columns:

  • Promotion category is the name of the applied promotion category.

  • Enabled indicates whether or not this promotion category will be applied during a specific time period.

The Enabled column appears only when the promotion category application period is specified.

Each promotion category has a matching set of time intervals during which it can be applied. To create this time period, you can use either the Interval start and Interval end values that correspond to the opening and closing times of the enterprise or specific start and end times (denoted in hours and minutes). The column header contains the start and end times of the interval.

By default, the column is not displayed. When you add a time interval which either starts with the opening of the business day or ends with its closing, only one Enabled column will be added to the data grid. When you add any other time intervals, two Enabled columns are added. The first of these columns displays the time difference between the start of the current business day/end of the previous interval and the start of the time interval that is being added. The second column equals the time that will pass from the end of the added interval to the beginning of the next interval/end of the business day.

Context menu commands:

  • Enable (F8) – flags promotion categories to be applied during the selected time interval in the sales rule.

This command is available if one or more time intervals have been added to the data grid.

  • Disable (F7) – unflags promotion categories so that they will not be applied during the selected time interval in the sales rule.

This command is available if at least one time interval has been added to the data grid.

  • Intervals – menu for managing the time intervals during which promotion categories can be applied.

The Intervals menu includes the following commands:

    • Add (Shift+Ctrl+Ins) – adds application intervals for promotion categories to the sales rule specification.

    • Edit – edits the application intervals of the promotion categories in the sales rule specification.

This command is available if at least one time interval has been added to the data grid.

    • Delete (Alt+D) – permanently deletes promotion category application intervals from the sales rule specification.

This command is available if at least one time interval has been added to the data grid.

    • Print (Ctrl+P) – generates print layouts.

    • Additional functions – menu with the commands to operate the data grid.

To add a new application interval for a promotion category, use the New interval entry window. To edit attributes of a given interval, use the Interval window.

When you delete intervals from the sales rule specification, a confirm permanent deletion prompt appears.

After the intervals have been added, the data grid columns in the Specification panel display values that correspond to the promotion category application periods.

If you add an interval that lasts the entire business day, a new column will be added to the data grid: Entire business day.
