Pasting an item from the clipboard to a data grid (Paste command)

Items in the clipboard can be pasted either into their source data grid or into another data grid. There are two ways to paste items from the clipboard:

Pasting an identical element creates an exact copy of the element in the same directory or list from which it was copied. When this command is executed, an entry window will open. Its fields are populated with the attributes of the copied item.

Pasting an analogous item adds copies of an item from one directory or list to another. This command is only available when the data grid from which the element is copied has the same structure as the data grid into which the element will be pasted. For example, you can copy data between stock-in records and stock-out records, or between stock items and store document specifications. When pasting analogous items, only the matching fields of these elements are copied.

If no clear relationship can be established between the original and derived documents (e.g. the original document contains multiple specifications, while the derived document has only one specification), you will need additional information to paste items from the clipboard. In this case, the Select paste mode window opens when you paste from the clipboard. In this window, you can select document relationship parameters, e.g. the original specification data grid and the stock item quantity type to be pasted.

If a data grid contains objects of different types, before pasting you will need to choose which item type you will insert. You can select the type of objects to be pasted in the Select transferrable object type window.

Menu items or menu groups can be pasted from the clipboard either as separate objects or as inherited objects. To determine which paste mode to use when inserting a menu group or item from the clipboard, use the Select paste mode window.

This window opens when the following items are pasted from the clipboard:
