Filter data in the data grid

Filter data in the data grid

By filtering you can make the data grid display only data that meets the selected requirements. This feature facilitates searches in the data grid. You can filter a data grid in one or more columns.

You can filter data in the column using the menu that appears when you click its header. The menu contains a list of filter criteria with all possible attribute values, as well as the preset options:

  • (All) – shows all items of the data grid.

This is the default value for all columns of all data grids.

  • (Condition...) – shows only the data grid items that meet a specified condition.

Filter conditions are configured in the Table properties window.

  • (Empty)– shows only items that have empty values in the selected column.
  • (Not empty) – shows only items that have non-empty values in the selected column.

The bottom part of a window that contains a filtered data grid shows the applied filter conditions--that is, which attributes are filtered and using which filters. The column’s filter panel closes when you cancel the filter condition.

The data grid filter results are saved even when you close the window (in the window model). These settings are also stored when you exit the system and then log in again under the same user.
