Typically, a separate store is used to receive and store the main part of the stock, but small quantities of stock items used for cooking or sale can be kept at smaller stores such as in the kitchen or at the bar.

In this case a stock movement record is created to accompany stock items being sent from one store to another. Creating the stock movement record decreases the quantity of a given stock item in the sending store and accordingly increases stock quantity in the receiving store.

Movement to store mode allows you to carry out all operations on stock movement records:

Stock movement records have different statuses at different stages of processing:

  • Not ready – this status is assigned to the records that are open for editing. The records with this status cannot be run by store.

  • Ready – with this status, the stock movement record becomes read-only and can no longer be edited or deleted. Only its status can be changed. The records with this status cannot be run by store.

  • Sent – this status is made for ready records that can be run on the sending store. As a result of running the stock movement record with this status on store, stock levels in the sending store are reduced accordingly but the recipient store levels remain unchanged.

  • Accepted – this status is made for ready records that can be run both on the sending store and on the receiving store. When the record with this status is run on store, stock levels in the receiving store are increased accordingly. If stock items have not been deducted from the sending store when the record with the Sent status was run, the stock levels in the sending store will be decreased accordingly.

To keep track of stock movement from one store to another, you can create stock movement records in Movement to store mode. A new record automatically receives the Not ready status.

The Ready status makes the stock movement record read-only.

After the stock items are dispatched from the store, the stock movement record is assigned the Sent status. When you run the stock movement record with this status on store, stock items are deducted from the sending store.

When these stock items arrive at the receiving store, the stock movement records is assigned the Accepted status. After the stock movement record with this status is run on store, stock levels in the receiving store will be increased according to the figures specified in the stock movement record.

The Movement to store mode start screen displays a list with stock movement records grouped by receiving store. Stock movement records from the current date only contain the time of their creation; other stock movement records display both the date and time they were created.
