The "Remainder"

Often, situations arise when some menu items or menu groups must be temporarily excluded from sale. Still, in many of these cases, you do not want to delete them from the Menu directory entirely. Rather, the goal is to simply remove them from selection on all or some POS terminals.

Tillypad XL offers you several ways to do so:

  • stop the sale of the selected menu items and groups on all POS terminals in all divisions,

  • stop the sale of the selected menu items on all POS terminals during certain time periods throughout the course of the day,

  • stop the sale of the selected menu items on a given POS terminal or on all POS terminals of a selected division,

  • stop the sale of the selected menu items on the selected POS terminal after selling the specified number of portions of the menu item on this POS terminal.

Menu items that have been excluded from sale cannot be added to orders because these menu items will be disabled on POS terminals until their exclusion from sale is cancelled.

Sales exclusions for menu items and groups in all divisions can be configured in the Menu directory. In order to exclude a menu item or a menu group from sale, assign the Exclude from sale flag.

Sales exclusions for menu items on all POS terminals within a specified time period during the day can be configured in both the Menu and the Price schedules directories. This is achieved by adding a price schedule to the menu item and specifying Not for sale in the Price field for the required period.

Sales exclusions for menu items on some POS terminals or in an entire division can be configured in the Stop list settings directory. The list of menu items that have been excluded from sale can also been edited on the POS terminal (in the Stop list mode or in the Tillydroid .

In the Stop list directory, you can specify the number of portions of the menu item that can be sold to customers before the sale of this menu item has to be stopped. This feature is only available for Tillydroid.

The list of sales exclusions is stored in the Stop list settings directory.
