Express example of POS terminal configuration for a fast food establishment

Express example of POS terminal configuration for a fast food establishment

Revision History

This chapter will offer an example setup for a small cafe or fast food venue in which one POS terminal is in use.

The chosen set of devices is typical for this type of venue. This allows the reader to view a characteristic setup of customer service operations: cash payments when taking orders, fiscal registration of payments, presentation of order information on the customer display.

The following devices are installed on the POS terminal:

  • Fast food POS terminal (POS) with an integrated ID reader (MC reader);

  • Customer display (Display);

  • Fiscal register (FR).

Express configuration example

The point of sale must belong to the division (Fast Food) created in the venue.

At the point of service, customers are offered a selection of dishes and drinks. Sales are accounted for in one sales department (Fast Food). When menu items are sold, their respective stock items are deducted from one store (Main store).

All of these dishes and drinks from the menu must belong to one concurrence (Fast Food).

One fiscal register (FR) is used for fiscal registration of payments for dishes and drinks. Only cash is accepted at the POS terminal.

The Security levels directory contains the (All sales) security level, which is assigned to all system settings and will be inherited by all objects of the system.

We will set up the POS terminal according to the conditions of the express example. Data will be added to the following directories:
