The editor window is opened by selecting the Edit command when one or more modifier groups are selected.

If one group is selected, the Modifier group editor window opens.

Window fields:

  • Modifier is the modifier whose specification includes this group. In the editor window, this field is read-only.

In the entry window, this field is editable and must be filled out.

  • Name indicates the name of the modifier group. This is a required field.

The name of this group is displayed on the POS terminal screen when the associated menu item is added to an order. Selecting this group makes its subordinate items available for selection.

  • Description is a brief description of the modifier group.

Any additional information can be entered in this field.

  • Index is a value that determines the position of the modifier group in the POS terminal menu.

This value allows you to change the display order of modifier groups in the POS terminal menu. By default the highest index is assigned to a new item. Indexing can be used to place the most popular items at the top of a group, making them easier to access at the POS terminal.

  • Required indicates whether this is a required modifier group. This is a required field.

Please choose between No and Yes.

If Yes is selected, the user must select at least one item from this modifier group and add it to the order. If the field is set to No, the POS terminal user can decide whether to add items from the group to the order.

Click OK to save data. Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving data.

If two or more entries are selected in the data grid, the multiple Modifier groups editor window opens. A panel with a list of the selected groups is added to the window.

The fields are similar to those in the Modifier group editor window.

You can open the New modifier group entry window by using the Add group command. In this window, a new modifier group can be added to the specification.
