Certain operations carried out on POS terminals require extra attention, as they can lead to financial losses if they are carried out incorrectly or with malicious intent. Therefore they require greater attention from the venue's administration.
Restricted POS terminal operations include:
deleting menu items (including and timed services) from orders,
deleting orders and guest tabs,
editing guest tabs (number of customers, tables, promotion category, employee),
splitting guest tabs,
reprinting bills,
voiding payments and their specifications.
These operations can be carried out on the POS terminal without confirmation only by authorised employee with sufficient user permissions. Otherwise, it requires a confirmation from the employee (administrator) with sufficient user permissions.
Depending on the configured settings, the user might need to indicate the reason for carrying out a restricted operation. The list of possible reasons is specified in the directory.
To avoid possible losses or staff misuse, information about restricted operations is stored in a special log. To make sure the information about restricted operations is stored in the log, you need to configure certain parameters for each POS terminal operating mode.
The information is added to the log automatically when restricted operations (deletion of guest tabs, orders or order items; changes made to guest tabs; splitting guest tabs; reprinting bills and voiding payments) are carried out on POS terminals.
You can view the restricted operations log by using the operational report. From the operational report window you can open the remote view window and windows of objects that were changed.
The
operational report is read-only.Information about deletions of order items accompanied by stock deduction is displayed separately in the operational report.
