A business day is the fixed work interval of a restaurant, against which all figures are calculated. As a rule, a business day corresponds to one shift and should be in accordance with the local fiscal law.

At least one division must be created to open and close business days. If a company has two or more divisions, a separate business day is opened for each division. For example, a mall has a bistro and a restaurant. The bistro operates from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., while the restaurant is open from 12 p.m. until 2 a.m. In this case, the business day of the bistro will open at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. of the same day. The business day of the restaurant will open at 12 p.m. of the current day but close at 2 a.m. of the next day.

Business days are used to facilitate report management in the Sales and Store systems, and enterprise monitoring.

Within business days, the following operations are carried out:

In order to sell menu items on the POS terminal, the user must open the business day in a division. Z-reports are printed on every till in the division when the business day is closed.

In Tillydroid , a separate business day must be opened for each mobile POS terminal.

A business day can be opened on one POS terminal in the division and closed on another POS terminal in the same division. It can be two different employees who open and close the business day. Only employees that have permission to open and close business days may do so. Business days are opened and closed on the POS terminal in the Administrator mode, but this operation can also be done in the Business days list.

The status assigned to the business day depends on what working stage the day is in:

  • Open – the business day is opened, and changes can be made.

  • Open for changes – the business day was closed and then opened again for editing.

  • Closed – the business day is closed; no changes can be made.

  • Deleting – the business day and the associated documents are being deleted.

Information about all business days opened in the enterprise’s divisions is contained in the Business days list.
