The Stock item panel is made available if the Class field in the Properties panel is set to Stock item.

The Stock item panel makes it possible to input specific attributes of menu items that are linked to stock items deducted from the store when the menu items are sold. These stock items are deducted from the store based on sales records.

In this panel, the user can set the proportion of how much of a stock item to deduct from the store when the corresponding menu item is sold.

The Stock item panel is composed of the following fields:

  • Stock item is the name of the stock item that must be deducted from the store when the menu item is sold. This is a required field.

    You can select this value in the Select stock item window.

    The stock item will be included in sales records. Its quantity will depend on the quantity of the menu item sold.

  • Quantity (menu) denotes the quantity of the menu item to be added to the order specification. This is a required field.

    The values in this field and in the Quantity (stock item) field determine the how much of the stock item to deduct from the store when the menu item is sold. The quantity is expressed in menu units of measurement.

    This field denotes the menu item's quantity, which corresponds to a stock item quantity that will be deducted from the store.

  • Unit (menu) is the menu unit of measurement. This field is read-only. It contains default values.

    For convenience, the name of this field is not displayed in the window. This field displays the value specified in the Unit (menu) field of the Properties panel.

  • Quantity (stock item) denotes the quantity of the stock item to be deducted from the store when the menu item is sold. This is a required field.

    The stock item quantity displayed in this unit of measurement is used to account for the stock item.

    The value indicates the quantity of the stock item to be deducted from the store when a particular quantity of the associated menu item is sold.

    This value will be entered in sales records and in the following operational reports: Stock movement , Stock item turnover , Stock out by stock in , and Stock in by stock out .

  • Unit (stock item) denotes the stock item unit of measurement specified in the Stock item field. This is a required field. For convenience, the name of this field is not displayed in the window.

    This field is automatically populated with the unit of measurement specified for the stock item in the Stock items directory.

    You can select a value in the Select stock item unit of measurement window. The selection window displays only units of measurement that belong to the same group in the Stock item units of measurement directory as the unit specified for the stock item.

    This value will be entered in sales records and in the following operational reports: Stock movement , Stock item turnover , Stock out by stock in , and Stock in by stock out .

  • Ad hoc recipe is an attribute to indicate whether to query information about stock on hand in order to calculate how much of the stock item will be deducted from the store when the associated menu item is sold. This is a required field.

    Please choose between No and Yes. By default the No option is set to the field.
