Using main and additional printers on POS terminals

The main and additional printers are now used differently on the POS terminal.

How the jobs will be sent to print depends on how the printer specification for the POS terminal is filled out.

  • If the POS terminal printer specification only contains the main printer, all print jobs are automatically sent to this printer. If the printer is not ready, an error message appears.

  • If the POS terminal printer specification contains only additional printers and does not contain the main printer, a dialog window will open when you send a print job. This dialog window will prompt you to select the printer to which to send the print job. The most recently used additional printer appears at the top of the list.

  • If the POS terminal printer specification contains both the main printer and additional printers, the job is automatically sent to the main printer. If the job cannot be printed on the main printer, a dialog window opens, prompting you to select an additional printer.
