Context menu of the data grid

For each data grid, a set of preset and unique operations that can be carried out on items is determined: add new items, edit attributes of existing items, delete items from the data grid, etc. To perform any of these operations, you need to select (make active) one or more items in the data grid and then click on the corresponding command in the context menu. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to select commands.

The context menu of the data grid contains a list of commands and menus that incorporate multiple commands. Commands that cannot be carried out for the selected item(s) will be unavailable.

Keyboard shortcuts are specified for some commands.

As a rule, the context menu of a data grid includes:

Add (Ins) command – adds items to the data grid.
Note
The context menu of a data grid with objects of different types can contain multiple Add commands.
For example, the context menu of the Menu directory incorporates the Add group (Alt+Ins) and Add modifier (Shift+Ctrl+Ins) commands.

Edit (F2) command – changes (edits) the existing data grid items .
Delete (Del) command – deletes items and groups from the data grid.
Export menu – combines commands to export data grid items to a file or update package:
- To file – exports the data grid items to an external file (Tillypad XL *.*.tpxl_exp export file).
- Add to update package – adds the selected items to the update package.
Clipboard menu – combines commands to operate the clipboard:
- Copy (Ctrl+C) – copies an item from a data grid to the clipboard,
- Paste (Ctrl+V) – pastes the item from the clipboard to a data grid.
Print (Ctrl+P) command – prints the print layouts that contain information from the data grid.
Summary functions menu – combines commands to calculate the summary values by data grid column:
- Total – calculates the total of the column values.
- Minimum – shows the lowest value in the column.
- Maximum – shows the highest value in the column.
- Quantity – determines the number of non-empty values in the column.
- Average – determines the average value in the column.
- Number of entries – shows the number of entries in the data grid.
Note
The Total, Minimum, Maximum, Quantity, and Average commands can be used both to obtain results for the entire data grid and to obtain interim results for a given group if the data grid has been grouped by the user.
Additional functions menu – combines commands to manage the appearance of the data grid and to save the data to an external file.
- Table properties – configures the data grid display mode.
  Selecting this command will open the Table properties window.
- Expand tree – expands all tree list nodes.
- Collapse tree – collapses all tree list nodes.
  Note
  The Expand tree and Collapse tree commands are available only in data grids that contain trees.
- Select all entries – selects all entries in the data grid.
- Show groups – displays groups in the data grid.
- Hide groups – hides groups in the data grid.
  Note
  The Show groups and Hide groups commands are only available in data grids that contain items and groups of items.
- Save as... – saves data from the data grid as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

There are also other operations that comply with the specifics of a given data grid. For example, the Activate command only exists in the Drafts directory. For more information on these operations please refer to the descriptions of specific directories.

The context menus of data grids that contain documents or document specifications include the Status menu. The commands of this menu match the statuses that the user can assign to documents added to the data grid or to documents, the specification items of which are added to the data grid.

The data grids of store document specifications contain additional commands to manage specification items:

View (F2) – displays read-only specification items.
Note
The View command replaces the Edit command in the context menu of the document specification if the status of the document does not allow any changes to be made to the document.
Edit sequentially (Shift+F2) – sequentially edits specification items;
Undo delete – voids the deletion of items from the specification data grid.

Additionally, context menus of stock-out record specifications contain the following commands:

Calculation – calculates specification items;
Recalculate recipe – adds the recipe to the compound specification item.
