Mandatory directories in Tillypad XL Manager

Either in advance or during POS terminal setup, several directories within Tillypad XL Manager:

  • Devices subsystem:

    • Devices – enter the device loader for the POS terminal as well as all devices to be used on it:

      • main device for the point of service (POS terminal, computer, PDA, etc.);

      • data input devices (keyboard, identification device: magnetic or smart card reader, barcode scanner, etc.);

      • information display devices (printer, customer display, etc.);

      • other devices (fiscal registers, authorisation devices, etc.).

    • Keyboard layouts – if you need to connect a keyboard to the POS terminal, you must create a layout for it.

    • Software module print formats – if you need to use a non-system print format and message display, you must enter those into the directory as well.

  • Sales subsystem:

    • Divisions – enter at least one division.

    • Payment methods – if other payment methods besides cash will be used, you must enter them into the directory.

    • Sales departments – enter at least one sales department.

    • Sales settings – enter at least one sales setting that connects to the point of service, menu concurrence, and sales department.

    • Payment settings – run at least one payment setting: enter a setting element for each fiscal register and add the sales department and the payment methods to be used to the element.

    • POS terminal operating modes – create the modes that will be used at the point of service based on the generic ones in the system.

    • Tables – if you need to specify tables in guest tabs when working in waiter mode on the terminal, add tables and a seating layout to the directory.

      To work in Fast Food mode, you do not need to fill in this directory.

  • Menu subsystem:

  • Advanced subsystem:

    • ID types – if you use any ID types other than the system types, add them to the directory.

    • IDs – enter the IDs of the employees who will operate the POS terminal. If you need to be able to authorise customers by ID, enter customer IDs as well.

  • Access section:

    • Employees – one employee is enough to set up the program. If you want two or more employees to work on the POS terminal, enter all of them and assign their IDs.

    • User roles – one system user role is enough to set up the program. If you need employees with different permissions to operate the POS terminal, enter all their user roles.

    • Security levels – if you need security levels other than the one specified in the system settings, enter them into the directory.

    • Employee privilege sets – if you need different access rights for different employees, create an employee privilege set for each user role: lists of permissions to execute operations to view and edit various objects of the system.

  • Store section:

    • Stores - enter the stores and store groups from which stock items will be deducted.

    • Stock items - enter the stock items that will be deducted when menu items are sold. For compound stock items (dishes, semi-finished products), add their recipes to the directory.
