Either in advance or during POS terminal setup, several directories within Tillypad XL Manager:
– enter the device loader for the POS terminal as well as all devices to be used on it:
main device for the point of service (POS terminal, computer, PDA, etc.
);
data input devices (keyboard, identification device: magnetic or smart card reader, barcode scanner, etc.
);
information display devices (printer, customer display, etc.
);
other devices (fiscal registers, authorisation devices, etc.
).
– if you need to connect a keyboard to the POS terminal, you must create a layout for it.
– if you need to use a non-system print format and message display, you must enter those into the directory as well.
– if other payment methods besides cash will be used, you must enter them into the directory.
– enter at least one sales setting that connects to the point of service, menu concurrence, and sales department.
– run at least one payment setting: enter a setting element for each fiscal register and add the sales department and the payment methods to be used to the element.
– create the modes that will be used at the point of service based on the generic ones in the system.
– if you need to specify tables in guest tabs when working in waiter mode on the terminal, add tables and a seating layout to the directory.
– one employee is enough to set up the program. If you want two or more employees to work on the POS terminal, enter all of them and assign their IDs.
– one system user role is enough to set up the program. If you need employees with different permissions to operate the POS terminal, enter all their user roles.
– if you need security levels other than the one specified in the system settings, enter them into the directory.
– if you need different access rights for different employees, create an employee privilege set for each user role: lists of permissions to execute operations to view and edit various objects of the system.
