Menu groups are used to combine menu items on the basis of any criteria, which users consider useful.

A collapsible list of menu groups is displayed in the Menu and Menu groups directories.

Any menu group can be composed of any number of subgroups. Top-level menu groups are called parent groups, while their nested groups are called child groups.

Changes made to the Menu groups directory are reflected in the Menu directory and vice versa.
