Device types directory

The Device types directory is used to manage device types.

Location: Devices -> Directories -> Device types.

Device types directory

Data grid columns:

Name — name of the device type.
Description — brief description.
Software module — name of the software module (driver) used to control devices of this type.
Type — software module type.
Class — class of the device type.
System — whether the device type is a system object.
Keyboard — whether the device type supports a keyboard interface.
ID reader — whether the device type supports an ID reader interface.
Printer — whether the device type supports a printer interface.
Fiscal register — whether the device type supports a fiscal register interface.
Customer display — whether the device type supports a customer display interface.
Scales — whether the device type supports a scales interface.
Relay — whether the device type supports a relay interface.
Port gateway — whether the device type supports a port gateway interface.
Privilege authorisation — whether the device type supports a privilege authorisation device interface.
Payment authorisation — whether the device type supports a payment authorisation device interface.
Message receipt — whether the device type supports a message receipt device interface.
Terminal — whether the device type supports a POS terminal interface.
Service provider — whether the device type supports a service provider (message routing) interface.
Remote terminal — whether the device type supports a remote terminal (PDA) interface.
Surveillance device — whether the device type supports a surveillance device interface.
Uses port gateway — whether devices of this type use a port gateway.
Uses input device — whether devices of this type use an input device.
Uses customer display — whether devices of this type use a customer display.
Uses printers — whether devices of this type use a printer.

Context menu commands:

Add (Ins) — add a new device type.
Add copy (Alt+C) — add a copy of a selected device type.

This command is only available in populated data grids.
Edit (F2)— edit selected device types.

This command is only available in populated data grids.
Delete (Del) — delete selected device types to Recycle bin.

This command is only available in populated data grids.
Export — export selected device types to an external file with the .tpxl_devt extension.

This command is only available in populated data grids.
Import — import device types from an external file.
Print (Ctrl+P) — print out.
Additional functions — contains additional commands for working with data grids.

The New device type, Device type and Device types windows are used for adding and editing device types.

The Device type. Copy and Device types. Copies windows are used to create copies of existing device types.

The Device type. Import and Device types. Import windows are used to import device types from an external file.

The Export window is used for exporting device types.

The confirm delete prompt is used when deleting device types.

The Select device type and Select keyboard type windows are used to select device types (keyboard types) from form fields in other windows.
