Restricted POS terminal operations
Certain operations carried out on terminals require extra attention, since they can lead to financial losses if they are carried out incorrectly or with malicious intent. These operations are referred to as
and are logged in the report.Restricted terminal operations:
-
deletion (voiding) of menu items and timed services from orders
-
voiding orders and guest tabs
-
modification of guest tabs (number of customers, table, privilege, waiter)
-
splitting guest tabs
-
reprinting bills
-
voiding payments
These operations are controlled by management and can only be carried out with the authorisation of an employee with appropriate user privileges. Operational reports provide a list of such operations.
A reason must be given when carrying out any restricted terminal operation. Reasons for carrying out such operations are contained in the directory.
Order voids in which menu items are deleted from orders and their associated stock items are deducted from stock as wastage are logged in the report.
The
report is read-only. It is populated automatically when restricted operations are carried out on terminals.Note
Equivalent operations carried out in Tillypad XL Manager are not recorded in the restricted terminal operations report.
